צוות ההיגוי לבניית סמינר ההכשרה לכל המורים במערכת החינוך היהודית בדרא"פ התכנס לראשונה.
הצוות כלל נציגים (מנהלים) מרוב בתי הספר ומערכות החינוך היהודיות בדרא"פ וכן את נציגי הסוכנות היהודית: דר' רחל כורזים (טלפונית) ואני.
בסיכומו של דבר הושגה הסכמה מקיר לקיר לקיום פרויקט הכשרת כלל המורים מבתי הספר היהודיים.
כמו כן עלה הרעיון והוסכם להמשיך לבחון הקמת אקדמיה להכשרת מורים מהחינוך היהודי בדרא"פ- מרכז שבו יתבצעו כלל הכשרות המורים, כולל הכשרת המש לכל המורים שייצאו להכשרה בישראל. במקום יוקם חדר וציוד לוידיאו קונפרנס, מרכז מידע (מחשבים) המחובר לספקי המידע הראשים-הגדולים בישראל (אוניברסיטאות והסוכנות היהודית). בראש המרכז/אקדמיה יעמוד אדם שייבחר על ידי ועדה שתכלול את נציגי כלל בתי הספר. כל בית ספר יממן את האקדמיה על פי מספר המורים שלו ועוד כהנה וכהנה. את כל הפרטים ניתו יהיה לקרוא בסיכום להלן.
מצורף בזה סיכום ראשוני של הישיבה הראשונה וכן 2 מסמכי הייסוד שהוציא הח"מ והרב קרייג קייסב.

- The whole idea of the seminar and its continuity is revolutionary and will re define the community involvement with Israel and the connection to Israel.
- The seminars should be an opening/beginning for continued study in SA.
- The committee should define what subjects can be studied in Israel and what in SA to ensure the continuity of the program.
- The committee should define what kind of educational experience they would like the teachers to have.
- Important to combine general studies in the seminar.
- The Jewish Agency should hold the role of the professional consultant, the knowledge data base and Dr. Rachel Corazim and the Israel Centre will be the representatives.
- The committee will rep. All the schools, and will not be political or force any kind of content.
- Every school will have to define for itself what content he will like to have in the seminar as well as with which partners.
- Ort will give the Technological support to the project.
- There is a huge emphasis on continuity and we should think of the organization to run the program.
- The mix of teachers from the different schools will build up studying groups to enrich each other.
- Ort suggested to be, and give the physical basis to the continuity of the program in SA.
- Ort is suggested its world knowledge data base for the program and the continuity.
- As part of the program and for the continuity, all schools along with the Jewish Agency will establish "the South African Jewish Teachers Academy".
- Every school will bring into it its own content for the seminars.
- Every school will sponsor a monthly fee for running the different courses.
- The payment can be by the size of the school (number of teachers)
- Every teacher that will participate in the program will get credits for certificate of payment. The promotion of teachers will depend on the courses he/she participated in.
- Venue for the academy:
o Great Park shul
o Ort
- The venue will be equipped with video conference equipment as well as telephone conference and 10 internet points with link to the major knowledge base in Israel universities as well as in other parts of the world.
- Students can use this data base and venue.

- Every school should discuss the seminar idea.
